Yes Virginia, it was a warm sunny day in Tegucigalpa.

For all of you who are enduring freezing temperatures across the U.S. all we can say is that we'll pray for you. But next year maybe you should consider joining us in Honduras where it is sunny and in the 80's!

We began our day with our first team devotion. We are investigating what we believe as stated in the Apostle's Creed, how we live in light of what we believe, and how we can share that with others. After our team devotion and breakfast, we jumped on the bus to ride across town to Prince of Peace church, which is where we will be serving on Monday and Tuesday. Like most Honduran churches it was pretty loud and a little longer than most of our church services at home and a little more lively to boot.

From there we went to Plaza d'Espana for the usual photo op and a little souvenir shopping before trying out a new restaurant with a slightly different menu than the old standby El Patio. Lunch was bountiful and delicious so most of us were suffering from food-coma afterwards! A few entertaining photo opportunities were available in the restaurant parking area as you can see below.

To work off lunch the team jumped right in and loaded up the cargo truck with the supplies that we will need for Monday and then we unboxed some sunglasses to give away during the week.

We are blessed to have Bill and Pam Wealthall as our Mission House hosts and Bill provided some cross-cultural and some evangelism training today. We will be applying both those lessons at the Serve Team site on Monday as we serve the Honduran community by providing medical care, installing water filters, painting a home and sharing the Gospel with children and adults alike. It will be a full day and we are looking forward to it.
