We had our first day of mission success today! We were warmly received by the community who expressed appreciation that we left our own homes to serve in Honduras. It is easy to see why many of the team members have repeatedly returned.
We shared our talents in a variety of ways at one of the local churches. We put in water filters in 6 of the local homes. We were able to correlate the freshly filtered water with the cleansing of our spirits and the living water that Jesus provides. One of the Honduran women promised to share the story with others.
We were able to bless children with washing their hair-cold water and all. Some of them had extra clean hair thanks to copious amounts of soap!
We saw over 200 patients in the medical clinic with a variety of ailments. We received lots of hugs from the littles! The patients expressed how caring the doctors and nurses from North America are when they come to serve.
We painted two rooms and the front of the house of a church member. No drop cloths needed (or available) by this team!
Our strong Evangelism team was able to bring several people to the lord and plant many seeds in others.
Optical provided 120 people with glasses, sunglasses and/or exams. This team was represented by 3 members of the same family.
We received help from interpreters and the church community in addition to practicing all the Spanish words we know! We then have a Duolingo marathon before going to sleep.
