Monday

It's been 3 years since our last brigade. What a blessing to join our host church, our translators, and our team to serve the people of Honduras. Their needs are so great! When we arrived at the church, a long line of Hondurans wrapped around the building waiting for care.

In children's ministry we saw 104 attentive, engaged, respectful, joyful, and appreciative ninos. We sang together at the top of our lungs. We shared the good news about Jesus with great joy. We washed a lot of long, long hair of girls and the short hair of boys - all in cold water - and the kids loved it!

We installed 4 water filters in the homes of people who had to buy clean water otherwise. What a privilege!

We saw nearly 150 people in medical and it turned out that we had almost everything that they needed in our pharmacy. Praise the Lord!

Our Honduran dental team served people with cleanings and extractions when needed.

And finally, our evangelism team attended to the spiritual needs of all the people who came to the brigade. They heard a lot of difficult life stories, but also engaged with many people with very strong faith in Jesus. What an encouragement!

At this evening's sharing time, it broke our hearts to hear about a little 6 year old girl. Her mother died 2 years ago and she is being raised by her grandma. She was noticeably depressed. Even a new pair of pink sunglasses could not produce a smile. That is just one of many emotional encounters where prayer was the greatest medication.

This is a TINY snapshot of a powerful day! There will be more tomorrow.
