Just So You Feel A Little Better

If you are following this blog then you are probably wondering if the team made it to Honduras ok. Well, we did. After a minor glitch and delay in Chicago the team made it to Miami just in time to walk across the hall to our connecting gate for Tegucigalpa.

The flight to Tegus was right on time and the landing at the new airport was much less exciting than at the old airport. It took a while to get through customs, but eventually we made it through with the trunks of eyeglasses that Dr. Robert brought. Then, in the airport terminal we met up with Brenda, our teammate from Colorado. The one glitch is that the autorefractor we were carrying with us was impounded and we will probably have to pay a tariff on that item.

Other than that, the bus ride to the Mission House was uneventful if long, and a nice lasagna dinner was waiting for us when we finally arrived.

For those of you in northern climes who are jealously thinking that we are basking in tropical warmth, it might make you feel a little better to know that tonight the wind is howling and we are in the midst of the clouds clinging to the top of El Hatillo. Perhaps Sunday it will be a little warmer and we will feel a little better too.

We'll touch base with you again on Sunday. In the meantime, please pray for the autorefractor to be released without lengthy delays. The old one will be available for use this week, but it would be great if the new one was released soon.
