The 2017 Team is ready to go!

On January 14 the team members from IL will meet at O'Hare airport at 3:00 am with tired eyes, trying to stay focused on the orders from Fred and Tom. For some in the group it's their first time and that causes some concerns about the unknown. For others in the group, it's their second, third, or even 17th trip and for them it brings a sense of excitement to see friends from past years. What bonds these two groups together from minute one is a calling from God to serve the people of Honduras; to be His hands and feet; to share His love and His story of salvation. 

At this writing, there are 42 team members, including 11 members of Peace and 31 members of 17 other churches around the country. The team includes 22 people from Illinois, 12 from Colorado, 3 from Pennsylvania, 2 from Nebraska, 1 from Arizona, 1 from Ohio, and 1 from Florida. Of these 42, the Lord has blessed them with 2 optometrists, 5 physicians and 7 nurses. Three of the team members are high school students and 14 are "first-timers".This past Saturday, some of the team from Illinois gathered to pack the supplies they'll take with them. Many thanks to the team members and their friends and families, Kingsway Pharmacy, and Thrivent for donations of medicine and finances to purchase our supplies. They packed and will check over 35 bags of vitamins, medicine, hair pretties, lice shampoo and supplies. Pictures are attached after this post.

For now, please pray for all these willing hearts to serve the people of Tegucigalpa as Jesus would! Pray for safe travel, for strength, for good health, and for each one of them to grow closer to their Lord and Savior.
