This morning, we woke up in the clouds that were clinging to the top of El Hatillo, the mountain on which the Mission House sits. After our morning devotion and an expansive breakfast our two teams went their separate ways and attended the churches that they will be serving at on Thursday and Friday. Both teams experienced lively and loud worship services before meeting up at El Patio for a meat-ladened lunch. The food was great and plentiful, and the mariachi players provided a little entertainment.
Although we were all full to the brim and ready for a nap by the time we returned to the Mission House, we had lots of preparations to take care of. First, we loaded the cargo trucks which will carry all of the supplies for our Monday/Tuesday medical brigades. We also organized eyeglasses and then received training on the nature of Honduran culture and customs. Evangelism training came next and was followed by training on how to set up and use the water filters that we will be distributing throughout the week. With all our preparations complete we should be ready to begin serving tomorrow.
The Mission House staff made it possible for the Bears fans to watch the playoff game so after a light dinner many of us are heading into the conference room to either celebrate or commiserate. We'll report back tomorrow.
Bendiciones!
